As part of property development, we have also adopted renewable energy sources provided by Finnish nature, reducing the environmental impact of our properties. In this area, we have risen among the most skilled operators in the field. At Askonalue, property cooling and heating are produced using a groundwater system – this is Finland’s first significant geoenergy project utilizing groundwater. The Puuvilla shopping center has one of Finland’s largest on-site solar power plants. At Silkkitehdas, geoenergy covers the entire cooling and heating energy needs of the block.
However, implementing renewable energy solutions is just one example of our responsibility actions. Renor has developed a comprehensive responsibility program covering all aspects of responsibility (environmental, social, and economic responsibility), through which we systematically aim to guide our actions in the area of responsibility.
